Outdoor Nature Day Camp

Friends of Redtail Society (FRS) is pleased to offer an outdoor, nature day-camp on Thursday, August 10, 2017, for ages 8 to 12 years. The program led by Billy MacDonald, Joella Arsenault and Kate McDonald will run from 9:30am to 4:30pm and will include nature awareness activities as well as a hike on Craig’s Way.

Drop-off and pick-up is on FRS lands off MacBeth Road, before the bridge (coming from Elmfield).
Day-campers are asked to bring a lunch (*peanut/tree nut/shellfish free please) and snacks, water bottle, sunscreen, suitable footwear (no open-toed shoes) and attire for the weather conditions – camp will not be cancelled due to rain. No cell phones please.

Cost for the day is $30; bursaries are available

Billy MacDonald is an FRS board member and founder of Redtail Nature Awareness Camp, which for 25 years played an important role in introducing both children and adults to the value of biodiversity in the natural world.
Joella Arsenault, also an FRS board member, is a nature photographer and former attendee of Redtail Nature Awareness Camp. For the past decade she has helped MacDonald with various programs and currently works with school age children.
Kate McDonald also a former attendee of Billy’s camp holds a Masters in Environment, Culture and Society and is currently working on energy management. She is a member of FRS and has supported Billy in the past with his work at the Camp.
