Nova Scotia is alive with a multitude of breeding migrant and resident birds. Join FRS board member Fred MacKenzie as we walk, listen and look for some feathered gems. Our walk will take us through a mixture of regen and older growth forests. Although this is a birding adventure we will stop to appreciate the presence and energy the spring woods provides. Binoculars are helpful but the majority of birds we will encounter will be through their mating songs. These spring songs signal renewal and hope and are often overlooked or under appreciated. We will do our best to get a visual on the birds but often will be left to soak in the beautiful melodies. Birds are often most active in the early morning so our adventure will begin at 6am in early June
